Visiting the Pump House
The Pump House is located at 1708 Pump House Drive, just down the hill from the Carillon in Byrd Park.

The interior of the Pump House is generally not open to the public, however we do host tours periodically. Please check our calendar to see when our upcoming events will be held.
There is still much to see at Pump House Park. Walk along the James River and Kanawha Canal and examine the remains of the locks that once served as a highway for goods moving up and down the James River. Continue along the path to the Lower Arch of the original James River Canal, where George Washington met with local officials on April 12th, 1791 to inspect the project.
