Please join us in the Pump House ballroom for a varied pose, nude model figure drawing session. This will be an unguided session, allowing full artistic freedom and a judgement-free environment for you to draw using whatever materials you like.

Know Before You Go
The Pump House is a historic site, previously abandoned, that is currently undergoing major restoration. Please enter at your own risk, and be respectful of the space James River Park System allows for Friends of Pump House. Bring your own supplies, and leave no trace.

All participants will be required to wear hard hats while inside the building, which we will provide. You're welcome to bring snacks and non-alcoholic beverages if you like.

Frequently Asked Questions
What time should I arrive?
We will be starting promptly at 7:00 p.m., so please allow yourself time to walk from on-street parking to check in. We recommend parking no later than 6:45 p.m. in front of the building.

Is this building wheelchair accessible?
Since the historic site is undergoing much-needed restoration from its abandoned state, the building is not yet ADA-accessible. There is a new ADA ramp which will get you to the building, but you will need to climb stairs to get to the ballroom.

Do I have to buy tickets in advance?
Tickets are $15 online, and $15 cash at the door. We have a 20-person capacity, so availability at the door is not guaranteed.

Where will my ticket funds go?
50% to the model, 50% to Friends of Pump House volunteers for workday supplies.

What is Friends of Pump House?
We are a volunteer-led non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, protecting, and restoring the Pump House. Our members devote their time and energy to this cause in a variety of ways, including participation in monthly workdays, hosting tours and educational events, advocacy, historic research, and fundraising.

Friends of Pump House is fiscally sponsored by the Friends of the James River Park. The organization has been around for almost 10 years and has been at the helm of restoration efforts that have led to major restoration projects being taken on by the city.
